Here’s the problem: you can’t inspire confidence among investors if your draconian spending cuts are tanking the economy. You know what inspires confidence? Economic growth! Krugman isn’t always right, but this graph he produces–courtesy of Britain’s Office of National Statistics–is really quite powerful:

Britain is being run into the ground by fools, and more than a few Americans, taking notice of the apparent awesomeness that has become the Cameron-era economy, seem to want some of that for themselves too.
